05/13/2005: "Notebook Poetry: Joe Torre"
From before Saturday's game against Oakland, in the Yankees' dugout... the words of Joe Torre, as taken down in my notebook.
As usual, it's a good thing I use a recorder. I can take down notes that make sense if necessary, but I greatly prefer to use the notebook as a guide to what I've recorded. I find that I pay more attention to what's actually being said if I'm not trying to copy it down word for word. This is the result of just getting the highlights.
